Our Royally Hot Adventure

Well it was announced this week that at work that we will be returning to KC around the 1st of September. I will keep my role as the International CIO, but will just do it from KC - traveling to the UK once a month.

It is a weird feeling as we confront this adventure coming to an end soon. More on that later. Suffice it to say we have a lot to do between now and then - more memories to make and plans for the next adventure ahead.

YEAR 11 DINNER

Chloe celebrated with her class at the Year 11 dinner tonight. They spent the afternoon getting ready at a friends house where they had a professional makeup/hair dresser to get them all dolled up. She looked quite grown up and stunning.

WWII

Sadie has been studying in depth about WW2 and what occurred here in England. I had forgotten the fact that during he way - families that lived in towns that were targets of bombing - took their children to the train station with name tags on them and shipped them off to the country where families were asked to take kids in during the war. Some kids stayed with these families for 6 years until the war is over. There are people I work with that have parents that were a part of this.

BACK FROM A SHORT JAUNT AROUND THE WORLD

Happy to be home this weekend and have a bit of a rest.

I left two weeks ago today for a trip to Australia via Qatar - back last Saturday evening and then left Sunday for Amsterdam until Wednesday of this week. Still trying to find out what country my body clock is in - but starting to adjust. Enjoy a couple pictures of the quick tour.

I have had a goal to see a Kangaroo in the wild in Australia and made that happen in a drive outside of Melbourne on the day I arrived.
