We spent Christmas Eve driving into the mountains on the center of the island to experience some adventures in the trees as a family. We later found our way to the base of Teide mountain a volcano over 10,000 feet above sea level. We drove from sea level to nearly 10,000 feet which was quite a climb. You can read more about it from this Wikipedia article. Mt. Teide Link
Christopher Columbus reported seeing smoke from the mountain on his way to find America. We had a great time testing our strength and limits among the trees. Everyone did amazing well.
In the evening we had dinner at an American restaurant in nearby Puerto Colon for a great dinner.

Sadie's letter to Santa. It reads:
Dear Santa, I hope you won't have to come to the Canary Islands every Christmas Eve. You make everybody's Christmas much better but know we have to remember what Christmas is all about. Best wishes from Sade Caldwell.

You wouldn't even know you were on the same island the terrain was so different. Almost like in a forest country. I am glad you enjoyed the woods though. I would have been on that zip line. I bet it was fun.
